Go Green Challenge: Wrap up your holiday the eco-friendly way

Our GO GREEN CHALLENGE for the month of December is "wrap up your holiday the eco-friendly way!" For your holiday shopping, please consider buying items that are good for the planet and its inhabitants. You may not realize major companies have eco-friendly items unless you look. For example, to address the global water shortage, Levi’s Water-Less Jeans use less water to produce.

You can also purchase gifts from companies that do good for others. For example, Cotopaxi, in addition to using sustainable product design, puts 1% of its revenue toward addressing poverty and supporting community development. That is just one example, search for B Corp Certified companies to find more.

After you buy your gift, please consider the wrapping. Most wrapping paper can’t be recycled. This year, wrap your gifts in:

  • Reusable bags
  • Towels
  • Paper grocery bags
  • Newspaper
  • Egg cartons
  • Magazine pages
  • Craft paper
  • Reusable bags
  • Glass jars
